Middle Tennessee Forecast: Sunshine Through Sunday Before Rain Returns Monday
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — Middle Tennessee will enjoy a stretch of warm, sunny days through the weekend before rain showers and cooler air move in at the start of next week, forecasters said.
Dry Weekend Ahead
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, conditions will stay mostly clear with daytime highs in the upper 70s to near 90 degrees through Sunday and overnight lows in the 50s to upper 60s.
A stray pop-up shower is possible late Thursday near Land Between the Lakes, but most of the region — including Nashville, Franklin, Murfreesboro, and Clarksville — can expect dry skies through the weekend.
Rain Returns Monday
The shift begins Monday afternoon, when clouds increase and showers develop across Davidson, Williamson, and nearby counties. Forecasters warn that commuters along I-65 and I-40 could see slower travel due to wet roads.
By Tuesday and Wednesday, scattered storms are expected, especially in areas east of Nashville including Cookeville and Crossville.
Cooler Midweek Temperatures
The rain will usher in a cooldown, bringing temperatures back to seasonal norms by midweek. Forecasters say highs will return to the low-to-mid 80s, with overnight lows in the 60s.
Five-Day Forecast for Nashville
- Friday: Sunny, high 86, low 57
- Saturday: Sunny, high 87, low 63
- Sunday: Mostly sunny, high 89, low 69
- Monday: Showers developing, high 86, low 67

Preparation Tips
Officials recommend residents take advantage of the dry weekend for outdoor plans but prepare homes and vehicles ahead of the wet weather. That includes:
- Clearing gutters to prevent blockages.
- Charging electronics in case of power outages.
- Allowing extra drive time for commutes on wet roads.
