Infant Child, and Woman Found Dead in Lake Michigan on Chicago’s South Side
CHICAGO — The bodies of an infant, a young boy, and a woman were recovered from Lake Michigan Saturday in separate incidents that police now believe are connected.
Infant Pulled From the Water
The first discovery came around 11:23 a.m., when officers responded to the 5700 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive. A female infant was recovered from the lake and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Woman and Boy Found Hours Later
Just after 2:20 p.m., police were called to the 6300 block of East Hayes Drive, where the bodies of a 31-year-old woman and a 6-year-old boy were recovered. Authorities confirmed the cases appear to be related.
Police said the circumstances point to a possible domestic dispute, though investigators stressed that the case remains open and ongoing.
Investigation Underway
Detectives are awaiting autopsy results to determine the official causes of death. No additional information about the victims’ identities has been released.
The discoveries have shaken the South Side community, where residents gathered near the scene as police and emergency crews worked along the shoreline.
