GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police have identified the man killed in a single-car crash Friday evening on Pembroke Road as 64-year-old William Perry Morgan.

The Greensboro Police Department said officers responded just after 5:28 p.m. Friday, along with Greensboro Fire and Guilford County EMS, to reports of a serious accident near Pembroke Road and Chatham Drive.
Witnesses reported that a Ford Focus sedan traveling east ran off the road where it ended, collided with a barrier, and then struck a tree in a wooded area.
Victim Identified
Morgan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, though the investigation remains ongoing.
