Car Crashes Into Potato Chip Store on Hillsborough Street, Driver Fled Scene

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are searching for a driver who crashed into a popular potato chip store on Hillsborough Street early Monday morning before fleeing the scene with a passenger.

Crash Damages Carolina Kettle

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. when a vehicle struck Carolina Kettle, leaving a large hole near the entrance of the building. Police tape was later placed around the damaged storefront.

Driver and Passenger Fled

Witnesses reported seeing both the driver and a passenger leave the car behind before fleeing on foot. Police confirmed that the vehicle was left at the scene and that an active investigation is underway to locate those responsible.

Shared Building Also Impacted

Carolina Kettle shares its building with Goff Performance gym, which was also affected by the crash damage. Both businesses are expected to remain closed temporarily while repairs and inspections take place.

As of Monday morning, Raleigh police have not released the identity of any suspects.
