Tampa Bay Forecast: Rising Rain Chances Through Early Week

TAMPA, Fla. — After a mostly dry weekend, forecasters say the Tampa Bay area will see increasing rain chances early this week, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms across southwest Florida.

Wetter Pattern Ahead

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay reported Sunday that while today will remain mainly sunny and dry, moisture levels will rise beginning Monday, boosting daily storm chances.

Highs will reach the upper 80s to lower 90s, with heat indices climbing into the upper 90s and low 100s.

Storm Chances Climb Into Midweek

Forecasters said isolated showers may develop Sunday, but rain chances hold below 30%. By Monday and Tuesday, probabilities rise to 40–60%, with scattered to numerous afternoon storms expected across southern interior and southwest Florida.

While severe weather is not anticipated, storms could produce localized downpours and brief gusty winds, particularly during afternoon commutes.

Warm and Muggy Nights

Overnight lows will stay in the mid-to-upper 70s, keeping conditions humid across the region. Elevated humidity is expected to persist throughout the week, adding to the muggy feel even outside of rain periods.

Residents are advised to stay alert for sudden weather changes and plan ahead for afternoon travel delays or outdoor event disruptions.
