Man Missing for Over 3 Years With A Bike in Utah Found Dead, Authorities Confirm

LA SAL, Utah — Authorities say skeletal remains discovered in San Juan County have been identified as those of a man who vanished more than three years ago after leaving a property with his bicycle.

Missing Since April 2022

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that dental records identified the remains as 47-year-old Jamey Eugene Holyoak, who was reported missing on April 28, 2022. He was last seen nearly two weeks earlier leaving a local property in La Sal on his pedal bike.

Deputies said they were alerted to the discovery of human remains on Sept. 11. No further details were provided about the circumstances of where or how they were found.

Family’s Long Search

Holyoak’s disappearance weighed heavily on his family. His sister, Kathy Holyoak Randall, previously told reporters that his life unraveled after his wife left him and that he struggled with addiction. “We did everything we could do. He went through three different rehabs,” she said.

Loved ones even hired a private investigator in 2023. Despite widespread speculation online, no concrete leads surfaced until now.

Investigation Continues

Authorities expressed condolences to the Holyoak family and said the case remains under investigation. His siblings told the Times-Independent last year they were determined to keep searching despite the lack of answers.

While investigators work to determine what happened, the recovery of Holyoak’s remains closes a painful chapter for a family who has waited years for resolution.
