Pitcher of Week


  ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –  Newberry’s Tomas Sorcia Jr. was named AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during week one of the 2020 season, the South Atlantc Conference office announced.
  Sorcia, a senior from Saluda, S.C., was nearly untouchable on the mound in his season-opening appearance for the Wolves. He earned the win, throwing six innings allowing just one hit with no runs, two walks and 11 strikeouts in Newberry’s 5-2 win over Belmont Abbey.
This is Socia’s first Pitcher of the Week award.
