ROCK HILL, S.C. – For the second time in as many weeks, Anderson University standout runner Christopher Burton has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Wednesday morning.
Burton, a junior Saluda High graduate, helped lead the Trojans to nine first-place finishes at last weekend’s Susan Rouse Invitational, which was hosted by Southern Wesleyan. He won the 100 meter dash in a time of 10.88, while also winning the 200 meter dash in a time of 21.59, marking his second sweep of the two events in as many weeks, after also winning the 100 meter and the 200 meter 12 days ago at the inaugural Montreat Invitational.
Burton posted NCAA provisional qualifying times earlier this season with first-place finishes in both events at the Emory Classic.

Richland Creek Top Guns Receive a
Grant and Have a Great Day in the Field!
The Richland Creek Top Gun shooting club would like to publicly thank the South Carolina Arms Collectors Association for their generous donation to the club. The grant was presented to the team on March 25th at the Palmetto Shooting Complex during a shooting event. Without the support of local sponsors, families, and the head coach, it would prove difficult to continue to offer many hours of free practice to this hard working team!
On April 1st, 2017, the team participated in the South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation’s third tournament of the season, held at the Clinton House Plantation in Clinton, SC. Over 500 youth participated in this event. Richland Creek Top Guns had a very successful day! The Advanced Senior Ladies won first place for the lady division and third place overall. Brianna Gibson was the high overall shooter for the Senior Ladies. The Senior First Year Ladies won first place in their division and the Intermediate First Year Men won first place for their division.
