TIDBITS by RALPH SHEALY

Well, this is going to be short and sweet.
I found out Friday morning that we needed to get the paper to the printer Friday afternoon, because no one would be at the Index-Journal on Memorial Day.
There was just not enough time to do my column this week, so I’ll see you next week!

Apology Letter from the Special Olympics

Dear Sponsors,
We would like to update you about the Saluda 4th Annual Special Olympics.  The original date was set for April 12th and the rain date was set for April 26th.  It had to be cancelled both times due to the weather. This broke our heart. All school calendars in the district were compared to try to come up with a third date to try to hold the Special Olympics.  Due to state testing, end of year exams, and all of the end of the year events going on at each school, it was not another date that would work. We did want you to know that the special education students still did receive special recognition at their school on April 26th because of your amazing support.  Each child still received the Special Olympics t-shirt, certificate, Little Caesars pizza, and a treat bag that consisted of chips, cookie, and a soda.
Sincerely,
Courtney Long
