Legion Donation


PRESENTATION TO HISTORICAL SOCIETY - Pictured left to right: Post Commander John Hood, Saluda County Historical Society Representative Bob Horne, and Past Commander Al Butler.  American Legion Post 65 presented the Historical Society with a check for $100. The Saluda County Museum offers visitors a glimpse into the county’s past with great exhibits donated by county residents and descendants of county residents. The Legion appreciates the great work the Society provides in giving us a glimpse into our past and providing opportunities at the theater.



Three SHS Tigers Sign

Saluda High School Principal Sarah Longshore congratulated three Saluda Tigers who signed to play college football Wed., Feb. 6. There were, L to R, running back Jeremiah Stevens who will be a member of the newly resurrected Erskine football team; lineman Trey McGraw, who will attend Limestone; and defensive back - wide receiver CJ Bosket, who signed with Navarro College in Texas. Their teammate Raquon Hartley signed earlier with Middle Tennessee State.

GIRLS
  Saluda High School Girls Varsity Basketball beat Batesburg-Leesville High School 47-32 Thursday, February 7.
  The Lady Tigers clinched the Region Championship last night finishing 16 - 5 overall and 10 - 0 in the region. Leading the way in scoring was Tiara Daniels with 10 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 3 rebounds. Other scorers were Charity Ouzts (8), Mya Carroll (6), Kalisha Hill (6), Nadya Watson (6), Andrea Coates (5), Tyasia Lott (4), and Laquanda Cooper (2). The Lady Tigers will host the first round of playoffs on Tuesday night. Opponent and time are TBD.
   Saluda High School Girls Varsity Basketball beat Abbeville High School 56-35 Tuesday, February 5.The Lady Tigers improve to 15 - 5 overall and 9 - 0 in the region. The team was led by Kalisha Hill and Charity Ouzts. Hill scored 15 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 steals and 2 assists. Ouzts chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal. Other scorers were Nadya Watson (10), Auvia Holland (7), Tiara Daniels (4), Tyasia Lott (4) and Mya Carroll (3).



Players of Year

  Saluda High boasts the Region Players of the Year in both girls and boys basketball.
  Kalisha Hill was named the Region II-2A Player of the Year. Joining her on the All-Region team were teammates Mya Carroll and Tiara Daniels.
  Dallan Wright was named the boys Player of the Year. His teammates Trey Bryant and Raquon Hartley also made the All-Region team.
