Saluda FFA Forestry Team Competes


Students from the Saluda FFA Chapter showcased their skills in the Forestry Career Development Event on Saturday, May 5th, at Harbison State Forrest in Columbia, SC.  The Forestry CDE measures knowledge of wood products and forest management issues.  Students took a written exam, measured trees, identified trees and disorders, as well as a completed a compass and pacing activity. Team members were Sam Barstow, Coy Smith, Corby Hite, and Ethan Altman.  The team placed 2nd overall and Ethan was high individual out of all students competing. Their FFA Advisor is Amanda N Crouch.   SES Student Council will host a Talent Show on Wednesday, May 9th. Admission is $3 for age 5 and older and $1 for under 5 years old
  The SES Honor Choir students will be presenting a production of The Wizard of Oz on Tuesday, May 15th at 6:00 p.m.  There will be a $3 per person admission fee for all ages.

  2018-19 Immunization Update: All current 3rd grade students are required to have 2 doses of chicken pox (Varicella) vaccine to enter the 4th grade in the coming 2018-19 school year. Please check your child’s immunization card and make plans for this to be done before the rush at the Health Department or your family physician’s office. We will need an updated certificate for the student’s Health Record. A documented positive history is considered immune and is exempt from this requirement.

Hollywood Elementary News
  Quarters For A Cure: Way to go Hollywood! Hollywood once again proved it is a caring, compassionate community. We raised $1,591.18 during our Quarters For A Cure campaign!! Mrs. Hudson’s class won the B-Hall competition with a total of $166.56 and Mrs. Jackson’s class won the A-Hall competition with a total of $135.49!
  BINGO!: Thank you to everyone for coming out to support our Bingo Night. We had some fabulous prizes and all the lucky winners were thrilled with their winnings. We were able to raise over $2200.0!!
