Presidential Inauguration

  Four Saluda County 4-H members and their chaperone attended the Inauguration Ceremony of Donald Trump during the 4-H Citizenship-Washington Focus Week. Attending were T. J. Price, Grey Riley, Mackenzie Riley, and Lindsey Scott.  They were joined by 4 additional 4-H members from South Carolina and their chaperones, Cynthia Price and Allie Winter. 
  During this week long event held at the National 4-H Center, they participated in several workshops along with 300 other 4-H members from across the country.   Their Washington tours included the Vietnam Memorial, World War 2 Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and much more. 
  Positioned only 150 yards from the Capital, they viewed the swearing in of our new President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. 
  This trip was funded by Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative Thrivent Financial, Saluda County Chamber of Commence, Asphalt Paving & Maintenance Company, Inc.  and the State 4-H Fund.

Miss South Carolina 4-H Pageant

Saluda County 4-H was well represented at this year’s South Carolina 4-H Pageant.  Miss Mackenzie Riley (center) was crowned Miss South Carolina 4-H.  Among her court were also two Saluda County 4-H members.  They were (left) Samantha Nichols, 1st runner up and (right) Allison Harman, 2nd runner up.  Also participating from Saluda 4-H was Lindsey Scott.

Parent University


  Parent University is just one way parents can become full partners in their children’s education.  Saluda High School offers free courses, family events, and activities that will equip families with new or additional skills, knowledge, resources, and confidence.  Parents may choose to attend all offered sessions or only the ones that interest themor work within their schedules.
  Research has shown that parents can increase a child’s academic succcess through their involvement with schools and communities.  Parental involvement improves student moreale, attitudes, and academic achievement across all subject areas.  Even if you are not a parent, we encourage you to become involved within Parent University.   Grandparents, aunts and uncles are welcome too!
