Forty-Seven Sentenced
During Court Term

  Forty-seven defendants were sentenced during the recent term of Saluda County General Sessions Court.
  The lengthiest sentence was detailed in the newspaper recently. John Lavan Werts was sentenced to 20 years for criminal sexual conduct with a minor, victim 11-14, 2nd degree; and seven years for sexual exploitation of a minor.
  Other sentenced on guilty pleas are as follows:
  Michael Keith Smith, assault and battery 1st degree, three years; domestic violence 2nd degree, three years. Ashley Lynn, possession of a controlled substance, time served.
  Brandon Lee Padgett, sexual exploitation of a minor, seven years, upon service of a 100 days, suspended to three years probation. Kenyatta Denise Padgett, possession of a controlled substance, time served.
  Tyrone Ouzts, assault and battery 2nd degree, three years. Idora Hazel Clarke, failure to file returns and pay tax, one year, suspended three years probation.
  Martin Ramirez-Vasquez, possession of a controlled substance, 129 days. Kendall Larma Yarbrough, forgery - value less than possession $10,000; possession of a controlled substance, time served.; shoplifting, seven possession of a controlled substance, time served.
 James Edwards, possession of cocaine, three years, suspended to two years probation; unlawful carrying of a pistol, one year, suspended two years probation. Jeremiah Zane Nelson, burglary third degree, five years, upon service of a year and a half, suspended to two years probation.
 Nicolas Levon Morris, public disorderly conduct, 30 days. Raymond Floyd Broglie Sr., reckless driving, 30 days.
  Grayson Ray Demarco, unlawful carrying a pistol, six months or $100. Marvin Wilson McGee, domestic violence first degree, 10 years, upon service of two years, suspended to three years probation.
  Leila Ailuwale Pelc, possession of less than one ounce of meth or cocaine base, first offense, three years, suspended to two years probation.
  Joseph Tyrone Gantt, ,possession of a controlled substance, time served.  Kelijiha Matreveus Savalas Brown, domestic violence 2nd degree, two years, suspended to two days and two years probation.
  Larry Antonio Moultrie, assault and battery 3rd, 30 days. Sergio Sorcia, failure to comply withy lawful directions of police, 30 days, suspended to two days.
  Rio Dejanero Caldwell, possession of less than one gram of cocaine, 18 months, suspended to one day and two years probation. Eric Torres-Conde, possession of a controlled substance, two days.
  James A. Hall, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, YOA not to exceed three years, suspended to 30 months probation. Emily Kristen Moore, unlawful carrying of a pistol, 30 days, suspended to two days.
  Rachel K. Vaughn, possession of less than one gram of cocaine, 18 months, suspended to three days and 30 months probation. Gary Lewis Sheppard II, possession of a controlled substance, two days.
  Hardy Nathaniel Williams,  failure to comply withy lawful directions of police, three days. Tyquain Osiris Coleman, domestic violence 2nd, YOA not to exceed three years, suspended to 30 months probation.
  Devonte Ryheem Scott, assault and battery 3rd, 30 days, suspended to two days. Natasha Renee Smith, burglary 3rd, 1st offense, four years, suspended to seven days, three years probation.
  Ryan Daniel Hallback, burglary 3rd, 1st offense, four years, suspended to 18 days, three years probation. Janisha Latavias Ruth, failure to stop for a blue light, 90 days,  suspended to two days, 18 months probation.
  Karisma Charmayne Long, possession of less than one ounce marijuana or 10 oz. hash, 30 days,  suspended to three days. Carl Jeffery Pugh, assault and battery 2nd, 30 days.
  Rodney Paul Smokes, use of vehicle without permission for temporary purposes only, unconnected to a crime, one year, suspended to one day and one year probation.
  Jonathan Scott Bishop, possession of less than one once meth or cocaine base, 1st offense, 18 months, suspended to two days, 18 months probation. Michael Tyrone Washington Jr., obstruction of justice, 30 days, suspended to two days.
  Gertez Marque Walker, willful violation of terms or conditions of electronic monitoring, three years,  suspended to two days, three years probation.  Tommy Gene Williams Jr., assault and battery 2nd, 30 days.
  Thanh Dat Chau Tru, forgery, 11 days; drugs - one ounce or less of marijuana, 11 days. Brandi Denise Coleman, receiving stolen goods $2000-$10,000, three years, suspended to 87 days, five years probation.
  Somaly Elaine Davis, assault and battery 2nd, 90 days, suspended to one day. Stephanie McCormick, malicious injury to property, less than $2000, 30 days, suspended to three days.
  Jose Felipe, burglary (non-violent) 2nd degree, 72 months. Amanda Lynn Curtis, unlawful carrying a pistol, 30 days, suspended to two days.
  Andy Wayne Parrish, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, five years, suspended to three years probation. Miguel Vasquez Lopes, assault and battery 3rd, 30 days.

Cases, 78 Deaths

  Saluda County’s COVID-19  cases total 4002 (3979 last week (down 21.4%), with 78 actual and probable deaths.
  Saluda County has 9,437 completed vaccinations and ranks 34th in the state.
  The number of tests given in Saluda County is 44,445
  Counties neighboring Saluda had the following cases (3 weeks, new reporting combines actual and probable cases): Aiken - 42,068 - 42,287 - 42,504;   Edgefield -6823 - 6844 - 6876;  Greenwood - 22,709 - 22,737 - 22,806; Lexington - 97,534 - 98,224 - 98,925; Newberry - 13,468 - 13,521 - 13,572.
  Cases are down 1.4 percent in S.C.
  Positive tests were 11.8%.
  The state total is 1,514,423 and 17,970 deaths.
